Mesh is a starting point
Mesh labels help describe particle size, but a number alone may not fully define a buyer’s requirement. Confirm the sieve standard and whether the grade is specified as passing, retained, or by a particle-size range. When distribution matters, request the relevant sieve analysis or other agreed measurement rather than assuming every supplier uses the same convention.
PNR’s published range
PNR lists mica flakes in 2–30 mesh grades and mica powder including minus 60 and minus 100 mesh. Its technical material also describes a broader powder range. These are published starting points, not a guarantee that every grade is in stock or interchangeable. Confirm the exact grade, test method and availability for your application.
A useful specification checklist
State product form (flake or powder), mica type or colour if relevant, mesh and measurement convention, acceptable size distribution, application, required quantity, packaging, destination and any sample or documentation needs. For recurring supply, refer to the agreed specification and sample consistently on every purchase order.
